Leitz Universal Rotating Stage

Leitz Universal Stage:

A beautifully engineered piece of equipment which permits the accurate and rapid determination of the optical properties and orientation of crystal plates or fragments. Also has been used in the Clinical Neuroscience field for assessing the layered collagen fabric of cerebral aneurysms.

Used in conjunction with a suitable polarising microscope, such as the Leitz Orthoplan-Pol, although it can be fitted to the Olympus BX-51 polarising microscope with some simple modifications to the upper limb.

No longer manufactured by Leitz, but we have 2 unused units, boxed with instructions, currently available.
