About David Bassett:

David Bassett has been involved with the microscope industry for over 40 years. Starting in the family business in England he was responsible for the sale and servicing of all major English and European brands. Later as a shareholder of James Swift & Son Ltd, an old established manufacturer of polarising microscopes and associated equipment, he gained experience in the design and production aspects of the industry.

Since arriving in New Zealand in the late 1970’s he has been a sales and service engineer for Leitz, Wild, Meiji Labax, and Olympus microscopes, as well as the Sokkisha range of surveying instruments.
